Andhra Pradesh, situated in south India is bounded by states of Tamil Nadu,
Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Orissa and Karnataka - fondly called the "Rice
Granary of India", it has also the largest IT Park and largest Film
City in Asia. Hyderabad with its medieval history is the capital. Andhra
Pradesh has a coastline extending almost 1000 km in Bay of Bengal. The state
has a unique combination of history, beaches and mountains. Here one can
enjoy the nuances of its Kuchipudi dance form.
The main and prosperous places of interest on the coastal region comprise
Srikakulam, Visakhapatnam, East Godavari, West Godavari, Krishna, Guntur,
Ongole and Nellore. The Rayalaseema region is represented by districts of
Kurnool, Cuddapah, Chittoor and Anantapur. The third region, Telangana,
former princely state of Nizam of Hyderabad, comprises districts of Khammam,
Nalgonda, Warangal, Karimnagar, Medak, Nizamabad, Aadilabad, Mahbubnagar
and Hyderabad.
Andhra Pradesh is the most populous state in south India, and the fifth
largest state in India. It is the major link between the north and the south
of India. Besides its legendary dynasties, the state has one of the most
revered temples, Tirupathi. The tourist flock to Hyderabad to appreciate
Charminar, Salar Jung Museum, and Golconda Fort, while the Nagarjuna Sagar
has the Buddhist heritages.
