Himachal Pradesh Travel

Himachal Pradesh is a delightful mountain state. The visitors from near
and far come for solace in the cool hilly environs. The winding roads and
high passes takes one to the picturesque valleys of Kullu and Kangra are
a blend of colours, in marked contrast the stark and barren terrain of Lahaul
and Spiti have a stunning moonscape like beauty.
The earliest known inhabitants of the region were tribals called Dasas.
Later, the area saw Aryans coming and assimilating in the tribes. In the
later centuries, the hill state was ruled by Mauryans , the Kaushans, the
Guptas, the Kannauj and Mughals. And finally it was ruled by the British
Empire who went on to make Shimla as their summer capital.
While Himachal Pradesh was formed in 1948, it gained the full-fledged statehood
only in 1971. The state is leading the healthy conversion by developing
strong base for the Eco Tourism and Organic Farming destinations.
