Leh Ladakh Travel

Leh & Ladakh are so intertwined that it is difficult to see them separately.
Leh Ladakh is situated on the east of Jammu and Kashmir at a height of 3,505
metres. Leh is the regional capital of Ladakh and it has Buddhist culture
due to proximity to Tibet.
The Karakoram ranges in the north and the Himalayas in the south border
Ladakh. With the great Indus passing through Ladakh, it divides the province
into Leh, Nubra, Zanskar, lower Ladakh and Rupshu. The river Zanskar flows
through Leh and meets the Indus below. There are the centuries old Buddhist
monasteries in the rugged yet beautiful Leh where tourists throng from all
over the world.
Leh is also a very fine destination for trekking and hiking. The adventure
tourism is a well-developed stream in Ladakh. A white water river rafting
expedition along the 26-kilometre stretch from Fhey to Nimo along the mighty
Indus River is a thrilling experience for the tourists coming to Ladakh.
The white water river rafting point here is the highest in the world. The
high altitudes and the surrounding mountains of Ladakh are ideal for paragliding,
mountaineering, trekking and skiing.
One can visit to Leh Palace, which is a miniature version of the famed Potala
in Lhasa, Tibet. Once home to royal family the palace was built in the 17th
century and has nine stories. Just above the palace is the Victory Tower
at the top of Namgyal hill, commemorating Ladakh's victory over the Balti
Kashmir armies.
The list of beautiful and famous spots includes the 1430 Namgyal Tsemo Gompa
with a huge Buddha image and ancient manuscripts; the Sankar Gompa; and
the Shanti Stupa. During the festival season the entire region comes alive.
Become a part of the rhythm of mask dance and peacock dance and make the
