Nagaur

Nagaur is a fortified desert city with distinct Muslim influences. It is 135 kms from Jodhpur. The notably medium sized Ahhichatragarh Fort was built by Mughal Emperors Akbar and Shah Jahan. A beautiful Mughal Garden and a Five Domed Mosque built by Emperor Akbar dominates the landscape.

The city becomes vibrant during Nagaur Fair, Ramdeoji ka Mela and Tejaji ka Mela. One gets to see the huge number of decorated and beautified cattle being traded amidst folk dance and music. Kiosks are put up selling traditional handicraft besides mirchi bazaar the largest red chilly market of India. Village folks are attired in their traditional best.
